Bruno Bruni (1935), is an Italian artist living in Germany, depicts figures, florals and birds and is especially focused on the female figure. As a lithographer he is unique for painting directly onto the stone, and he does not use metal plates or transfer paper. German printmakers Albrecht Durer and Paul Wunderlich have been of special influence on him.
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts with the famous painter and graphic artist Georg Gresko. Bruni’s friends included the two artists Rudolf Hausner and Horst Janssen. With his figurative motifs, Bruno Bruni made a name for himself internationally as a draftsman, lithographer, painter and sculptor as early as the 1970s. In 1977 he was awarded the International Senefelder Prize for Lithography. Today Bruno Bruni is considered the most internationally known Italian artist in Germany. Bruno Bruni lives in a converted swimming pool in Altona.
